A Journey Back to the Glorious Han and Tang Dynasties – A Day Trip to Xi’an, the Capital of Thirteen Dynasties
Have you heard of the ancient trade route that connected the East and the West, spanning across the Asian and European continents—the Silk Road. The route starts in the city of Xi’an, formerly known as Chang’an. Thirteen dynasties, including the Zhou dynasties, Qin dynasties, Han dynasties, Tang dynasties, all have established their capitals here. Xi’an is located in the Guanzhong Plain, in the central part of China’s territory, while serving as the capital city of Shaanxi Province, a significant birthplace of the Chinese civilization. It carries the spiritual and natural symbols of the Yellow Emperor’s Mausoleum, the Terracotta Warriors, the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, the Qinling, Mount Hua, and many other aspects of Chinese civilization, Chinese revolution, and Chinese geography.
