Community Rules and FAQs
Community Rules
Welcome to Storius! We are grateful to have you here.
Our mission is to empower storytellers from all around the world to present their local culture and preserve their heritage.
Hence, we will be working toward this direction to ensure that our actions align with our values.
These Community Guidelines should not only help you understand how to act within the community but also help you understand what to expect from others in this space. If you would like to upload your stories or tours on desktop browsers, please visit our website : https://web.storiusapp.com/
Behavioral Guidelines:
1 Respect and Inclusivity: Storius is a diverse community, and we value respect for all individuals. Treat others with kindness, empathy, and respect, regardless of their background, culture, or beliefs. Discrimination, hate speech, or derogatory comments directed towards individuals or groups based on their race, color, religion, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability will not be tolerated.
2. Harassment and Bullying: Storius is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all users. Harassment and bullying, including but not limited to intimidation, threats, stalking, or sustained and unwanted contact, are strictly prohibited. This applies to both public content (such as comments, usernames, story names, or narrative styling) and private messages or chats.
3. Constructive Communication: Engage in constructive and meaningful discussions. Disagreements are natural, but personal attacks, insults, or inflammatory language directed at other users will not be tolerated. Instead, focus on sharing diverse perspectives and fostering understanding.
4. Privacy and Consent: Respect the privacy and personal boundaries of others. Do not share personal information without explicit consent. It’s important to obtain permission from individuals before sharing their photos, videos, or personal stories.
Content Guidelines:
1. Non-Violence: Do not upload or promote content that encourages violence, physical harm, or the abuse of animals. This includes content that contains credible threats of violence against individuals or groups, terrorist propaganda, or content that incites, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or suicide. If you come across violent content that serves an educational purpose and does not violate these guidelines, provide appropriate context and flag the content for review.
2. Authenticity and Accuracy: Ensure that the content you upload is authentic and accurate. Misinformation, false claims, or intentionally misleading content can harm the community’s trust. If you share stories or information based on personal experiences, make it clear that they are subjective and not representative of universal facts.
3. Cultural Sensitivity: Storius aims to celebrate and preserve diverse cultures and heritages. When creating content, be mindful of cultural sensitivities and avoid misappropriation or disrespect. Respect copyright laws and give credit to the original creators when using their work.
4. Appropriate Content: Avoid uploading explicit, pornographic, or sexually explicit content. Nudity, if present, should be artistic or relevant to the cultural context. Content that promotes illegal activities, such as drug use, violence, or discrimination, is strictly prohibited.
Enforcement of Guidelines:
Storius reserves the right to enforce these community guidelines and take appropriate action against users who violate them. Depending on the severity of the violation, consequences may include warning, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination. We encourage all users to report any violations they come across to help maintain a safe and inclusive community.
Thank you for being a part of Storius and for contributing to our mission of sharing and preserving cultural stories. Let’s create an inspiring and respectful community together!
FAQs
Q. How long should my story be?
A. Aim for 3-5 minutes, better too short rather than too long.
Q. Can I write any story?
A. Please only write a story if you can make it relate to a precise location on the map. Users should be able to stand at a particular point and look at something concrete while listening to your story!
Q. Can I create a story to promote my business?
A. You can tell a story about your business if there is genuine historical context or there are personal memories. If you want to promote your business and be our partner, you can contact us through emails and our social platforms.
Q. Can I write stories about my favorite travel destination?
A. We aim to create a platform that introduces and educates our users about the culture and history behind places. If you wish to publish your story or tour on our platform, unless you are an expert about that place’s history, please only write stories about your hometown, home street, or a place you live at.
Q. Can I write fiction stories (e.g. Ghost stories)
A. Yes, but clearly label them with correct themes (e.g. “Pop Culture”) and indicate in the title that this is a fiction story (e.g. “The ghost story of …”).
